At some point in time, all of us have come across the mini blinds section at the local home improvement store. They look nice on display, but these small blinds can gather up a lot of dust. Regardless, you can take the necessary steps to ensure you keep your mini blinds clean.

Removing Dust

Weekly dusting is the best way to take care of the cleaning and maintenance of mini blinds. You can do it by using a lambswool duster, as lambswool will naturally attract dust and prevent buildup.

The Cleaning Process

If lamb’s wool isn’t available for the cleaning process, a paintbrush may also do the trick. Make sure you place some towels underneath the blinds to catch any excess dust. If you want to be thorough, you can also take the blinds down and clean them in your bathtub.

Blind Maintenance

To remove grease from the blinds, you can use an all-purpose cleaner. Spray the blinds well, then let the cleaner work on them for a few minutes. Wipe the cleaner off with a soft cloth, although rinsing the cloth will make it even more effective. To clean the other side of the blinds, flip it over and repeat the process as needed.

Cleaning Cloth

A fast and simple way to clean mini blinds is to use an old pair of cotton gloves. Simply put the gloves on, dip your fingers into a solution of one teaspoon ammonia and one quart water, then run your fingers through the mini blinds.

Blinds Spray

For a different method, you can also use the vacuum cleaner hose attachments. You can even use the vacuum cleaner without having to remove the blinds. Putting a dryer sheet on the blinds will remove any static so that dust will no longer be attracted to the blinds.
